• We will clean the counters, mirrors, sinks, and sink fixtures. 
• We’ll empty the trash if you desire.
• Last we vacuum the floor if needed and then mop.

Why does your bathroom get sooo…dirty?

Hi! I’m Don Glasgow, the owner of First Impressions Home and Office Cleaning.

We clean bathrooms throughout Southern Utah. 

We know that bathrooms here show scum and dirt more easily. The reason for this is how hard our water is. I own a hardness test meter and our water has 700 ppm dissolved minerals in it. Utah averages 290 PPM. The Eastern U.S averages 100 PPM.

What does this all mean? 

Our water sticks to shower walls, shower glass, sinks, and faucets. It is great at locking in dirt and soap scum. Our water is hard enough to dissolve the metal of your faucet, somewhat like sea water.

Two Things I’ve Learned Cleaning Bathrooms (My thoughts on bathroom cleaning)

The area that is missed the most by people cleaning toilets is reaching around behind the toilet. There is almost always something on the floor back there. Usually toilet paper.

Another thought is that it really pays to squeegee the walls and shower doors when you are done showering. This helps keep soap scum and hard water stains from building up. You might even want to use a towel to dry them, like I do.

When a Bathroom Needs Deep Cleaning 

If your bathroom needs a deep clean we will do all the regular cleaning plus 

• We will wipe down the walls
• We will pay even more attention to the floor including the grout and the flooring hidden by the counters. 
• We will also clean the baseboards. 
• We can also dust the ceiling fan.

what are the steps you take to deep clean your bathroom?

looking for a checklist of sorts! this is what i typically do, wondering if there’s anything i’m missing/anything that would up my clean bathroom game lol

1. take out all the trash (medium trashcan next to toilet, tiny trashcan next to sink for floss and disposable makeup tools etc.)
2. remove all the clothes either sitting on my above-toilet shelves or hanging from the back of the door, sort into laundry hamper/closet
3. take towels and shower curtain/liner out and throw in washing machine
4. remove bathrug, vacuum and wipe down both sides (i have one of those super thin rubber/pvc ones that can’t be washed)
5. scrub out bathtub and sink with dish soap, water, and my scrubbing brush; rinse clean
6. scrub toilet bowl with scrubbing bubbles flushable toilet brush heads
7. spray bleach in all corners of the bathtub, in and around the sink, all over the outside of the toilet, let sit 5 minutes, wipe with wet washcloth (separate ones for bathtub/sink and toilet) – immediately toss washcloths in the laundry
8. wipe down mirror with windex
9. lysol wipes for towel rod, faucets, doorknob (including cabinet doorknobs) and anything else i touch frequently
10. vacuum again to clean up any scraps or hair from all the other steps
11. mop with microfiber mop and lysol multi surface cleaner + water solution (microfiber mop head then also gets washed along with washcloths)

that’s pretty much it, curious to know if anyone takes any other/extra steps, maybe even not Every clean but every so often! let me know if there’s anything you think i’m missing here 🙂
